Short video interview with GAP Community and Psychiatry Committee Chair Dr. Margie Balfour and Sergeant Winsky describing Tucson’s model mental health crisis continuum as well as the latest crisis system developments, including the upcoming 988 mental health hotline number.



When mental health professionals and law enforcement work together, they can help keep individuals in mental health crisis out of jail and out of the emergency room—and get these individuals the care they need. In this Mental Health Minute video, Margie Balfour, MD, PhD, of Connections Health Solutions and Sgt Jason Winsky of the Tucson Police Department provide an update on the latest crisis system developments, including the upcoming 988 mental health hotline number.

Dr Balfour is chief of quality and clinical innovation at Connections Health Solutions and an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona.
